Shadows appear, and disappear. Visions emerge from nowhere. How strange life can be. When backpacking one summer in the Adirondack mountains I heard words in my head, and I was compelled to stop and write them down. I felt as if my soul was in the process of restoring itself, removing toxins that were interfering with my life. The words were simple and clear:
When hiking up a steep hill that appears to never end
There’s nothing you can do but take one step at a time
until it’s finally over.
There is beauty all around. We only have to look.
For two straight days I did a lot of stopping to write. The words came to me, and I wrote down what I was hearing. When I came home I began organizing the fragments into Discovering Light. This is the result.
